Elite universities don't just look for students with stellar grades anymore.

They look for students whose experiences and activities fit into a coherent story — where it's obvious why they chose it, what they built, and how it connects to their trajectory.

Random impressive stats and programs don't create that. Strategic planning does. You're planning the proof points that makes your entire application impossible to ignore.

Students who plan summer in January have 90 days to research, apply, and secure meaningful opportunities. Students who wait until April are hoping something good is still available.

Starting in January doesn't give you a slightly better summer. It gives you exponentially more strategic options — and the time to turn your summer into your strongest application asset.

Starting in January doesn't give you a slightly better summer. It gives you exponentially more strategic options — and the time to turn your summer into your strongest application asset.

Let me show you two students. Same intelligence. Same potential. Completely different outcomes.

Student A starts planning in January.

  • She discovers a selective neuroscience research fellowship. Real lab work. Actual mentorship. The kind of summer that becomes a standout essay.

  • In February, she applies with clear positioning.

  • By March, she's accepted.

  • She spends the next few months building a relationship with her mentor before summer even starts.

  • Summer arrives. She's doing meaningful work that proves her narrative. Not generic volunteer hours. Not a pre-college camp 10,000 other students attended. Real research with tangible outcomes.

  • September rolls around. Her essays practically write themselves. She's not spinning experiences or trying to make something sound more impressive than it was. She's documenting reality.

Student B waits until April.

  • From January through March, she tells herself "I'll figure out summer later."

  • April hits. She Googles "summer programs."

Here's what she finds:

  • $20,000+ pre-college camps that accept 90% of applicants. Generic volunteer work that doesn't differentiate her narrative. "Leadership programs" her classmates are also doing.

  • She picks something. Spends her summer doing... something. It's fine. It's just not hers.

  • September arrives. She's struggling to make her summer sound meaningful. Trying to spin a generic experience into proof of who she's becoming.

  • It doesn't land the same way.

Same intelligence. Same potential. Completely different timing.

The best summer opportunities fill in February and March — while most students think they "still have time."

By April, you're not choosing strategically. You're choosing from scraps.

This isn't about being "better" than other students. It's about understanding how the calendar actually works.

January is the planning window. April is when you're out of good options.

The students who secure competitive summer programs — the ones that create 8-10x higher acceptance rates to top schools — aren't luckier or more connected.

They just started earlier.

They just started earlier.

For years, students treated summer like resume padding. Pick impressive programs. Stack activities. Hope it looks good.

  • Wait until April: You pick from what's left, not what fits your story.

  • Generic program lists: The same programs everyone does don't differentiate your narrative.

  • "Do something impressive": Random achievements don't create a throughline.

  • Traditional counselors: Resume-focused advice built for old admissions game.

Elite universities now select stories, not resumes. Your summer needs to feed your narrative — not just add a line.

The Narrative Method doesn't just find you a summer program. It's designed to turn THIS summer into proof of who you're becoming. Other approaches help you do something. The Narrative Method makes your summer unmistakable.

Hi, I'm Elise. I'm a current Harvard student and I was accepted to every single Ivy League school I applied to. I achieved this without coming from a wealthy family, having alumni connections, or attending an elite prep school.

I was attending a public high school where over two-thirds of students were socio-economically disadvantaged. I didn't have a "perfect" application. I had a narrative driven one.

  • Giselle from my same underfunded high school turned her underdog story into a Stanford "must-admit"

  • Mark raised by a single mother, no standout activities landed his dream spot at USC

  • Dianne She had no AP classes, SAT, or ACT and still got into Rice, UC Davis, UC Berkeley

This isn't luck. This is a proven approach.

Now here's what most students still believe:

"I'll start thinking about summer when my friends start thinking about it."

"I'll start thinking about summer when my friends start thinking about it."

"I'll start thinking about summer when my friends start thinking about it."

That's the logic, right?

Right now, no one in your grade is seriously planning summer yet. Everyone's in "I'll figure it out later" mode.

Your group chat isn't talking about it. Your counselor hasn't brought it up. None of your friends are stressing. So why would you be the weird one who starts now?

This is the exact thinking that creates the April scramble. Because here's what happens:

  • January-February: No one's talking about summer. Feels too early. No social pressure.

  • March: A few Type-A students quietly secure competitive programs. Still feels early to most people.

  • April: Suddenly EVERYONE realizes "wait, we need to do something for summer.

  • Result: 50,000+ students competing for the mediocre programs that are left

The students who end up with standout summers didn't wait for it to "feel urgent." They didn't wait for their friends to start stressing. They started in January when it still felt early.

I have time" is the most expensive lie students tell themselves about summer planning. Because deadlines don't care what your friends are doing. They don't wait for everyone to "be ready.

You can cram for a test the night before.

You CANNOT cram a meaningful summer experience.

A summer that moves your application requires:

  • Time to find programs that fit YOUR story (not just "what sounds good")

  • Time to apply strategically before deadlines close

  • Time to build mentor relationships before summer starts

  • Time to show trajectory (not just "I did a thing")

The real deadline for summer isn't June. It's February when applications close and strategic options disappear.

Students who plan in January: 90 additional days to research, apply, and secure the right fit.

Students who start in April: 30 days to panic Google and settle for what's left.

Same potential. Different runways.

And in narrative building, runway is everything.

Now having an extra 90 days doesn't automatically give you clarity.

Most students who start early still pick programs randomly. They Google "selective internships." They ask friends what they're doing. They choose something that "sounds impressive."

Then summer happens. They do the work. They learn things.

But when September rolls around and they're writing essays, nothing connects.

The problem isn't just timing. It's knowing WHAT to do with the time.

This is why we built the Narrative Method.

Because early planning without strategy still leads to random choices. And random choices don't create compelling narratives even if they happen in January instead of April.

Your stats are the ticket to the door. Your story built through strategic summer choices is why they fight for you in committee.

The Narrative Method works through compounding. Same concept as compound interest: early investment exponential returns.

Same intelligence. Different runway.

You don't need to "invent" a new self or manufacture achievements. You need the Narrative Method to turn what you're actually doing into a story colleges can act on and that requires planning summer NOW, not in April.

  • Instead of scrambling in April for whatever programs are still available… you’ll have a summer that builds your specific story.

  • Instead of settling for generic camps that don;’t build your narrative... you'll have real proof for your essays by September

  • Instead of watching competitive programs close in February before you even started planning... you'll be the one who secured the opportunity while others are still ‘thinking about it’.

You stop competing on metrics. You start competing on meaning. And that's a game most applicants don't understand.

Here's what nobody tells you: Admissions officers don't actually read your application. They scan it. The average time spent on an application is under 8 minutes.

And in those 8 minutes, they're not evaluating whether you're qualified. They're looking for a reason to stop evaluating you and move to the next file. Your job isn't to avoid mistakes. Your job is to give them a reason to admit you.

Because here's how it actually works: After the initial scan, a small number of applications get flagged for committee review. In that room, an admissions officer has to stand up and argue for why you should be admitted.

They need ammunition. They need a story they can tell. They need to say:

This is where we uncover what makes you truly unique not just your achievements, but your real potential for impact. We go deep into your background, strengths, experiences, and what actually matters to you.

We're not just listing achievements. We're looking for the story that's already there hiding in plain sight.

HERE'S THE KEY INSIGHT: Most students try to guess what universities want and then shape themselves to fit. This is backwards.

The applications that win aren't the ones that fit a mold. They're the ones that are so clearly themselves that they can't be compared to anyone else.

This is where we leverage your summer to plan:

  • Which programs or experiences actually align with YOUR story (not just "what sounds impressive" or "what my friend is doing")

  • Where the hidden opportunities are (programs most students never find because they're not on generic "best of" lists)

  • How to position yourself to selective programs (not just the ones that accept everyone with a pulse and a credit card)

  • How to structure summer so it becomes your main essay topic (not an afterthought or disconnected activity)

You transform from "another high-achieving student"...

Into someone universities see as their next success story.

You stop being indistinguishable. You become someone they can picture on their campus, in their alumni magazine, giving the commencement speech in 20 years.

And the twist is, you don't need a more interesting life than the one you’ve lived so far to show. You just need a better lens on the life you've already lived.

Diana came to us in January with no SAT, no ACT, zero AP scores,
and the belief that Rice was a fantasy.

By February, while other students were "still thinking about summer,"

Diana had secured a community organizing internship that aligned
perfectly with her first-gen, low-income leadership story.

That summer became her essay. That essay became her acceptance.

Rice didn't care about her test scores. They cared about who she was becoming and summer gave her the proof.

The difference? She planned in January instead of April.

  • A clear through-line that connects everything

Think about your favorite series on Netflix every part of your application should feel like an episode in that same series, not random clips from different shows.

What you get:

  • Weekly group coaching calls with me personally

  • Direct access to our team of admissions experts

  • 1-on-1 live feedback on every element of your application

Once we've identified your unique narrative, we build your complete strategy:

Your Story Weaves Through Everything.

We help you craft a narrative that connects every element:

  • Your Essays not five random topics, but five angles on a singular narrative

  • Your Activities not a list, but proof of who you've always been

  • Your Internships not resume padding, but evidence of your trajectory

  • Your Projects not "impressive" for its own sake, but aligned with your through-line

  • Your Grades & Test Scores contextualized, not excused

Everything connects. So that when an admissions officer finishes your application, they can say in one sentence who you are and why you matter.

Giselle: same underprivileged high school I attended. No fancy résumé.

But she'd spent years translating for her parents, mediating between
two cultures that didn't understand each other.

In January, while others waited, she planned a summer translation
services program for immigrant families.

That summer became proof of her "bridge builder" story.
That proof became her Stanford acceptance.

Stanford didn't see "disadvantaged student."
They saw someone who'd been training her whole life to connect divides
and had receipts from summer to prove it.

Her background became unforgettable because she strategically built
summer around it. Not in April. In January.

Mark: raised by single mother, worked 20 hours/week, minimal
extracurriculars.

But he'd been the "unofficial IT guy" for his apartment complex
since age 14. Fixed computers. Taught neighbors tech basics. No permission. No credit.

In January, we helped him turn that into his summer strategy. He built a free tech literacy program for seniors in his building.

By February: curriculum done.
By March: first cohort enrolled.
By August: 15 seniors confidently using smartphones.

USC saw a builder who doesn't wait for permission and who had
proof from summer. Mark didn't need a better resume.

He needed January planning to structure summer around the story he was already living.

If you're in 9th, 10th, or 11th grade this is exactly when your story is being built. The students who get into elite schools aren't crafting their narrative senior year. They're living it sophomore and junior year making choices that create real proof.

Students who start with us in 9th or 10th grade have 2–3 summers to build genuine evidence for their story. They can pursue projects, internships, and experiences that actually align with who they are.

Students who wait until senior fall? They're not building. They're spinning trying to retroactively create a narrative from whatever they happened to do.

Starting early isn't overkill. It's the single biggest advantage you can give yourself.

You absolutely can. Plenty of families do.

The question is: How much time, stress, and missed opportunity are you willing to spend learning by trial and error?

Most families reflect on what actually works after the rejection letters arrive. They look back and think, "Why didn't anyone tell us this?"

We're telling you now.

And if you're a junior you haven't missed your window. You still have time... BUT that window is measured in months now, not years. The difference between students who get in and students who don't often comes down to what they do in the next 6-9 months.

The One-Story System was designed as the equalizer for students who have to earn their spot, not the ones who have every advantage handed to them.

Some of our best results have come from students with 3.0 GPAs, no connections, and nothing "impressive" on paper. What they had was a real story and the willingness to let us help them tell it.

The Real Risk Isn't Taking Action

The real risk isn't "not getting in someday." The real risk is starting the same time as everyone else...

...and regretting not starting earlier, waking up on decision day with no idea which way it'll go.

Refreshing your email. Pit in your stomach. Hoping.

The sleepless nights before decisions drop. The second-guessing after you hit submit. The slow realization that you were working hard but maybe not on the right things.

The risk isn't trying something new. The risk is not doing everything in your power to represent all the effort you already and are willing to put in.

We only work with a limited number of students each application cycle to ensure everyone gets the personalized attention they need. This isn't a 'counseling' group of unvetted tutors or recent grads reading from scripts. It's hands-on partnership with trained professionals who've actually been through this themselves

If you're seeing this, there are still spots available. But they won't last especially as application season approaches.

From here, you have two paths.

From here, you have two paths.

From here, you have two paths.

From here, you have two paths.

Path One:

Keep doing what you're doing. More APs, more activities, more test prep, more stress. Check every box. Second guess every line. Cross your fingers and hope it's enough to stand out.

Stay wondering what if. Hope the admissions lottery falls in your favor.

On decision day, hold your breath and pray.

Path Two:

Build one compelling story that makes your dream schools see you as their next success story not just another good student in a pile of good students.

Stop competing on metrics. Start competing on meaning. Become unforgettable.

If there's even a small part of you that knows this might be what you need...

Fill out the short application on this page and book a call with our team.

Bring your questions and your messy real story.

That's what we work with.

On the call, we'll:

  • Review your summer goals and target schools

  • Uncover your narrative angle for summer

  • Map your 90-day execution roadmap

  • Determine if you qualify for January bonus

If we can help turn THIS summer into your biggest admissions advantage, we'll show you what working together looks like. If summer planning isn't your highest leverage, we'll tell you that too.

If we don't think we're the right fit, we'll tell you that too and you'll still leave with clarity and a plan.

No pressure. No salesy conversations.

A genuine conversation and honest assessment of where you stand and what it'll take to get where you want to go.

Elise is the real deal. She's super approachable. She's super friendly.I was really impressed with Elise's dedication.
I don't know if that girl ever sleeps. The information she shares, her generosity is genuine. And, you know, take a chance. I don't think you'll regret it.

Hi Elise, I hope you are doing well! I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I ended up getting accepted into Northwestern University! Thank you so much for all of your help, I truly appreciate all your insight and advice throughout the process.
I will be sure to keep your business in mind and refer people to you should they need any help with their college application process. I hope you continue to succeed in your endeavors and achieve all your goals and more!

The UILG program gave me so many resources and chances to get great feedback on my essays. As the oldest sibling with no parents who went to college in the U.S., I felt pretty overwhelmed by all the supplemental essays.
But the coaches were there to support me like older siblings, always quick to give advice and help when I needed it. Their feedback really made a difference.

When I started my college application process, I was overwhelmed and lost because my deadline was approaching very soon and I didn't have anyone to check over my application and essays. But when I came across Ultimate Mentor, I voiced my concerns to Elise about meeting the deadline and wanting to make my application the strongest it could be.
And with that, she provided me with amazing edits and revisions within just a couple of hours after my submission. If I'm being honest, you can't find these fast and reliable services anywhere else, so I strongly recommend using Ultimate Mentor.

Aditi M.

I felt lost within the college admissions process, without much idea of how to do things (especially since I’m an only child). After joining UILG and being given a guiding gameplan on how can tackle the college admissions process, I felt on track for success and even a sense of ease! UILG has continuied to help me grow by giving my continuous feedback on my essays and writing style to ensure I can effectively voice my personality through my essays.
To anyone that is looking to work with UILG, I highly recommend it! It’s provided me a sense of direction when it came to the college admissions process, and I felt like I was in good hands when it came to my essays.

Before attending the program, I was a little lost on how the college application worked and what I needed to do to secure my spot at a top school.
Throughout the program, my mentors worked with me to not only establish a strong foundation, but to also guide me through the specifics behind the college application process.

Athul A.

I was able to secure NASA SEES internship, plus a quino internship, plus research with a professor through cold email.

I was incredibly lost and overwhelmed about the college application process, especially as the deadline was approaching in 4 days, and I didn't have anyone who could check over my application in a way to ensure it was on par.
Thus, it felt like a miracle when, after voicing these concerns to Elise, she provided incredible edits/revisions only a couple of hours after my submission. All of the revisions are well thought out, and I can DEF tell the hype around Ultimate Mentor!! I STRONGLY recommend this service, especially for those who never had a college consultant or is just overwhelmed by it all. Thank you, Elise!

Elise was extremely helpful to me in our last tutoring session. I had booked calls at the top 5 ivy league counseling services (prepory, the ivy institute, etc) and I liked her the best. We were ready to put a lot of money down for these people but then I found Elise. I liked Elise the best because she actually seemed real and wasn't like a 40 year old man that I felt was not with the times.
Elise didn't seem money oriented and greedy like other people I had met and she had a large plethora of knowledge so relate to me on an individual level.I am recommending her to everyone that I know that could use her services.

Jyot S.

I contacted Ultimate Mentor through Instagram and I was looking for some sort of guidance to the college process.
I don't really see any flaw in the program. I think that if you're willing to put in the work, there's no reason not to join.If this sounds like you, I think you should really consider this as an option for college prep as soon as the ninth grade.

I was able to view myself through lenses I’ve never seen, and through the help of Elise, Brian, Jaden, Mandy, and Izzy, I’ve been able to grow into not only a better admissions cycle applicant, but as a better student, sibling, and person.
Overall, my most significant achievement thus far, with the help of UILG, was my likely letter from Northeastern, a possibility that I couldn’t have imagined without the help of Elise and her team all together.

The UILG program was honestly one of the best decisions I think I could’ve made throughout my entire high school career.
I was able to organize myself a resume and get accepted into a variety of summer programs and get a 5 on my ap European history exam!

Zuzanna P.

I am incredibly grateful to have been a part of UILG. I’ve gained skills that will later come in handy during college...
If you’re a struggling student like I used to be, this program will be the ideal move to really elevate your applications through your personality.

Sophie K.

I was able to break down the overwhelming admissions process into manageable steps, allowing me to focus on every aspect of my application with clarity.
The coaches were extremely supportive and dedicated their time to review my essays, ensuring that each one reflected my values and curiosity.

Halina N.

With the help of this program, I was able to write beautifully crafted essays that reflect my journey towards the person I have become, something grades could never do.
I would like to highlight specifically the coaching staff that this program has. I strongly believe what makes this program stand out compared to others are the work ethics of the coaches. They were truly remarkable and had so much knowledge about the admission process and what admission officers look for in an applicant.

Himani M.

The Ultimate Ivy League Guide program has contributed to my recent achievement of working on earning the U.S. Congressional Award because the mentors helped me find this award to work towards and also guided me when I had questions.
I would most like to highlight my growth in my college essay knowledge due to the program because I learned how the different common app and uc applications differ and also how to approach different prompts for different colleges.
